CYTOS - Biosafety Cabinet Class II type A2

BMB-II-«Laminar-S»-1,2 CYTOS  *

Article  1Е-В.005-12.0

Biological safety cabinet Class 2   Cytos  is designed for work with cytostatic and cytotoxic agents.

The cabinet Cytos provides product, operator and environment protection for work with agents of biosafety levels 1, 2 and 3.

Application of the Microbiological Safety Cabinet

  • Personnel protection from exposure to antineoplastic (cytostatic and cytotoxic) compounds when working with such;
  • Aseptic preparation of the antineoplastic (cytostatic and cytotoxic) products
  • Physical isolation (containment and controlled removal from the work zone) of pathogenic biological agents (PBA) and microorganisms to prevent airborne infection of the staff and contamination of the air in the work room and to protect the environment.
  • Protection of the working agents inside the work zone from external and cross-contamination.
  • Work with small amounts of toxic chemical agents and gases, radio nuclides and removal of odors from working agents are possible only in case of mandatory connection of the cabinet to the individual exhaust ventilation system via exhaust hood.
  • If the cabinet is used for work with pathogenic biological agents (PBA) and high-risk (especially hazardous) microorganisms, a corresponding protective (antiplague) coverall shall be used.

Key Benefits

  • Extra measures for operator and environment protection are provided in Cytos cabinet. Four intermediate cylindrical HEPA filters H14 are installed parallel to each other and located under the work chamber worktop. FILTER REPLACEMENT IS PERFORMED WITH WORKING FANS through the work chamber without additional dismantling of the cabinet. Therefore it minimizes the risks of personnel and environment contamination.
  • The table top is a quick-removable tray to ease up the collection of spilled materials, the tray under the table top prevents liquid leakage inside the cabinet.
  • The system of monitoring the cabinet's operating modes warns the operator about the air flow imbalance in the work chamber with an audible-visible alarm.
  • A unique pull out UV-unit is included into the basic configuration.

Standard Features of the Microbiological Safety Cabinet

Work Chamber

  • Slanted triplex front sash;
  • Front sash lifting mechanism is gas springs;
  • Damper preventing front sash from slamming;
  • Tempered glass side windows;
  • Work chamber illumination – LED.
  • 2 electrical sockets inside the work chamber;
  • Airflow laminarisator made of micromesh screen;
  • Sectioned removable tabletop made of stainless steel;
  • Stainless steel removable armrest.

  • Pull out UV unit (located outside the work chamber under its base when off mode);
  • Metallic protector of the UV lamp.

Air Supply and Exhaust System

  • To provide air flow in the cabinet, plenum (upper) ventilation camera is supplied with one fan, exhaust ventilation is supplied with two fans;
  • Inflow and downflow in the cabinet go through two-step filtration by:
    • One supply HEPA filter H14 is located above the work chamber.
    • Four intermediate cylindrical HEPA filters H14 are installed parallel to each other and located under the work chamber worktop.
    • One exhaust HEPA filter H14 is located in the upper part of the ventilation camera.

Control System Elements

  • Microprocessor control system of electro automatics;
  • Cabinet’s control unit is a touchscreen;
  • Air balance’s parameters sensors;
  • Front sash position’s and UV-block’s sensors;
  • Individual safety block of the electric supply line of the main cabinet’s functions (fan, lighting, UV-irradiation);
  • Individual safety block of electrical sockets installed in the work chamber;
  • Non-removable power cable.

Elements for НЕРА filter check

  • Built in duct stub for air sample collection is designed for inflow and outflow inspections of HEPA filters installed in the upper ventilation chamber.
  • Built in duct stub for air sample collection is designed for intermediate compact НЕРА filters.

Distinctive Features

  • Operations section of the tabletop is executed with quick-removable trays to ease up the collection of spilled materials
  • Intermediate compact НЕРА filters are easily detachable and installed right under the tabletop. Filter substitution can be executed from the work chamber with fans turned on without additional dismounting of the cabinet’s frame, which minimizes risk of personnel and environment contamination during the procedure’s executions.
  • Tray under the cabinet’s tabletop is made of stainless steel, has an easy clean construction and is executed in a way to prevent spilled liquids from getting inside the cabinet and on the intermediate HEPA filters.
